Texas now boasts the third largest Asian American population in the country, with 1.8 million community members as residents. AAFCF TX mobilizes Asian American voters to participate in the elections mainly in Harris and Fort Bend Counties. We are building a culture of civic engagement among our community in Texas, reframing narratives around controversial topics such as public safety and immigration, and institutionalizing Asian American progressive leadership. In light of the Government of Texas’ passage of severe anti-immigrant legislation (SB4) under the name “Operation Lonestar,” AAFCF TX prioritizes advocacy at the levels of local law enforcement and municipal government and at the state level to organize and protect our community members whose immigration statuses put them in danger of detainment or deportation.
